Boland presents that sentiment without a drop of Hallmark saccharine, however. He doesn’t sweeten these tunes with easy studio tricks or the sort of pop trickery so often heard on Music City productions these days. The surface is anything but slick, and the sinew that runs through songs like the organ-tinged strut “Green Screen” and the high lonesome desert tone of his take on Randy Crouch’s “They Took It Away” lends a tone that’s ragged-but-right, ideal for Boland’s always-incisive lyrics.
“Whether it is worship or country, I approach being an artist as a soul, writing and singing to another soul, bound to a truth that has changed everything for me. I use my own journey to write and focus on relationships and experience. I am undoubtedly a spiritual person, so I write from that perspective. Sometimes I write directly to God, sometimes about God and sometimes about and to His people.”
This choir has grown tremendously since our first concert, and it is only getting better every day. The students are one of the most dedicated groups we have had at Celina High School and it shows!

Can't You See
Texas based singer-songwriter Max Stalling will be attending ParkFest 2017 this year. Stalling's unique voice and amusingly clever song lyrics have entertained us with his past Home to You album. We are looking forward to his latest 2015 Banquet and live performance here in Celina. Stalling was born in Uvalde, Texas and moved to Crystal City before attending kindergarten through high school in Carrizo Springs. He studied at Texas A&M University, where he earned a master's degree in Food Science. After college, Stalling entered the corporate world and eventually moved to Dallas, where he worked in product development for Frito-Lay.
Anybody who has ever seen Chaz Marie live knows she’s the real deal. She sings from the depths of her soul. Her sultry, smoky, raspy vocals and charming personality have earned her the reputation as a fresh alternative to the formulaic country soul artists. Her voice is a fusion of her musical influences in country, delta blues, R&B and rock and roll. A natural lyricist, she unabashedly reels you into a realm of sweet surrender. Not only does she deliver a powerhouse vocal performance, she is an Entertainer at heart. She will have you grooving, moving and even laughing in the same song.
Boxcar Bandits: North Texas Skunkgrass power trio and friends, homegrown in Denton, TX since 2006. Equally at home at a beer joint or concert hall, back porch or street corner, the group melds bluegrass, old-time, western swing and country with the sounds of string band instruments to create their signature Skunkgrass sound.
